Bearing in mind all that we know about human nature, and that by necessity we are all out for ourselves (and if you want to see the laws of evolution at work, turn your eyes to the animal kingdom, and pay close attention,)
Is it therefore safe to say that we must needs avoid sex even as we avoid standing too close to strangers on the train?
Everything that we do to each other harms us. Sex is an exploitation just like any other. Other people exploit us, and we exploit them - is there anything other than pain?Sex is really a form of inter-personal aggression and to be avoided?Everything we do is in our own direct or indirect self-interest so, to that extent, I agree with you. For example, we have friends because we gain from the relationship. If they get something from being your friend and you get something from being their friend, wouldn't you call that mutually beneficial? How is having sex different?
You seem to have some muddled thinking going on there - and some complete tosh. How does your assertion "Is it therefore safe to say that we must needs avoid sex even as we avoid standing too close to strangers on the train" follow from your first paragraph? Where is the rationale for the assertion that "Everything that we do to each other harms us."? It seems to me that mutual self interest is what defines society. I do unto you as I would have you do unto me ... as they say. What's so bad about that?Sex is really a form of inter-personal aggression and to be avoided?
Believe it or not, human nature is very similar to animal nature, just some people see it as being 'more evolved'.
Sex, in humans and animals, is an act in which a species reproduces. That is a fact of life, and is also in many cases, human nature. Even your parents did it at some time. Where they being aggressive towards each other? And if they would have avoided it, guess who wouldn't be getting this answer right now?
Sex is only aggression when it is not consented, i.e. rape, or when people go too far, if you get my meaning. Apart from that, it is actually a pleasurable experience. And standing too close to a stranger on a train is a different experience. And, in the above context, sex is not an exploitation, it is a choice between two people.Sex is really a form of inter-personal aggression and to be avoided?well whatever it is it's a human need and i see it quite difficult to avoid it.Sex is really a form of inter-personal aggression and to be avoided?
Weird obtuse opinion....Sex is really a form of inter-personal aggression and to be avoided?its a way to show love
