What do south africans think of inter-racial relationships?

your thoughts? What do south africans think of inter-racial relationships? It could be a step down if you mix with the wrong kind. Socially, politically and culturally your friends may trash or shun you.

I personally think Europeans mixing with Asians or their descendants is not such a great moral dilemma as Black with White would be. The offspring results from the latter is more extreme and they do not feel themselves fitting in either society and feel not accepted by either. I also think Indian or Malay/Indonesian women are beautiful and I have close friends in their native countries.

Have you ever seen a young Malaysian women in a light lavender floral dress? What do south africans think of inter-racial relationships?
I don't know about other South Africans, but this is what I think.

If the only thing standing in the way of an inter racial relationship was the colour of their skin, there would be absolutely no problem with it. However it hardly never comes down to just skin colour. Cultural differences between black and white people in South Africa are huge and I think if you were a black American or black UK citizen in a relationship with a black South African citizen, you'd make the exact same conclusion. Any children from such a relationship will be torn between 2 worlds really and will hardly know where they fit in. I have no problem if people are willing to engage in such a relationship knowing full well what they are getting themselves into and I will even fully support them, but as a personal choice I prefer to date within my own cultural group as relationships are difficult enough without the added pressure of bridging two completely different cultures. What do south africans think of inter-racial relationships?Having this question for so many different ways - why would South Africans care about inter racial stuff?? I do not think the Nazi's had to bare this much racial stuff after world war two even .... "does your swaztica glow at night??" - Goodness.

My honest opinion ... lions and tigers are from the same species ... seen them breeding? We are no cats, we are all humans, so, guess we don't care too much then about that.

Whatever makes your bum hum mate .... if you like inter racial relationships so be it, I see no need for it so guess that is it for me then.

What in your opinion do the holly Americans think about inter racial coffee bars, or homosexual orientated pharmacies for that matter? Bottom line is, we don't give a crap about it - get over it.
I have a few friends in inter-racial relationships and, in our social group, we have no issues with it. And the awesome part is that the parents have no problem with it either. I guess I come from a more liberal point-of-view where I judge people, not by the colour of their skin, but by what they stand for and how they see things.

Call me crazy...What do south africans think of inter-racial relationships?Every person should have there own opinion about this. My opinion is that you should travel with someone.. lets say to africa or- somewhat more relating to your question travel to south africa- enjoy the company if you can or the country before you really make a final decision. I read this social page hub/Tours_from_South_Africa and this inspired me again to go out and enjoy our beautiful country whether its inter-racial or not. What do south africans think of inter-racial relationships?
I think there is to many cultural differences that can never be completely resolved, such as language and religion to name only 2 important issues .. but in the end it affect every one in boh families and mos of all the children when there is kids, they are never sure exactly where they really belong .. that's my thoughts on the subject
I was raised as a conservative Afrikaner and, probably because of that reason, I don't find it acceptable.

My niece decided to marry a Hindu Indian man. It lasted about 2 years. Too many cultural differences and it caused her parents a lot of heartache.

On the other hand, a friend of mine married a Chinese man and she was extremely happy until he died in a motor vehicle accident. What do south africans think of inter-racial relationships?
No one can answer that correctly, it's a ridiculous question. How can one person speak for millions? And how can you expect one opinion to apply to so many, surely you don't think they all think the same way?
I know of many English speaking and Afrikaans speaking people who got married, had kids and had a good life.

Personally I see no problem with such inter-racial relationships.
No problem. Just culture is a big deal. The children are the one to suffer if they land up inter-race.
You do see it more and more nowadays but I think most people frown upon it.
I doubt they support it. I don't.
