Why have Inter Milan appointed Rafael Benitez?

Is anyone else staggered as to why Inter have chosen Benitez to succeed Morinho. I mean, look at Liverpool's season, its been dire. And now he's got a job at the club that are Champions of Europe. Benitez could have walked into any managerial job in Europe. Real Madrid publically pursued him for a couple of years, Juventus made him their No.1 target, and AC Milan were interested for a while too. That's what you get when you've won two la Ligas, a Champions League, and you've built a reputation as one of Europe's top bosses.

I won't go into details, but ask yourself, was that really Benitez's fault? Or could it perhaps be something to do with the fact that he was forced to make a profit in the transfer market the two previous years? Or how about the injury crisis which meant he could barely field his strongest side once during the whole season?

Because the powers that be at inter milan had the intelligence to look further then last season they saw his la liga medals with valencia his champions league record also.
