Can narrative be inter weaved from a directed interview?

If conversations happens impersonally and atemporarily in Discourse (GEE) , can narrative be brought from a directed interview?Can narrative be inter weaved from a directed interview?I would think that any conversation which takes place in that controlled environment would be pertinent and beneficial to share in some manner.
