Explain why France adopted a policy of appeasement during the inter-war years?

Reasons why they France did adopt appeasement....were they similar to that of Britains... how were they similar and how did they differ?Explain why France adopted a policy of appeasement during the inter-war years?Probably because 1/10 of their population had been casualties in World War I. No one wanted that again. Anyways, more than 200,000 French soldiers were killed in the Invasion of France. Just goes to show..Explain why France adopted a policy of appeasement during the inter-war years?Because the French are, and have always been, a pack of Pu$$ys.Explain why France adopted a policy of appeasement during the inter-war years? After WWI no one wanted another war. The memory of all the death and destruction was still very fresh in the minds of the French like it was in the minds of the British. They didn't see Hitler as a major threat to them right off, like with the rest of the world they saw Hitler as a "guard dog" against Communist Russia. Many seemed to feel that Russia was more of a threat than the Germans.
