How sufficient is the idea of security dilemma to explain inter-state relations in the post cold war period?

this is just a question posed by one of my political science instructors. She asked us to find out peoples' attitude on the question. Any help is highly appreciated. How sufficient is the idea of security dilemma to explain inter-state relations in the post cold war period?Sorry, you haven't really provided enough information to answer this question. Certainly the notion of security has changed drastically since the end of the cold war. The main change, in my opinion, has been the transition from the concept of nation states fighting each other to that of securing ourselves against non-state attacks (terrorists..). The impact of this change on inter-state relations varies depending on the state, and how cooperative it is.

If you want a better answer, you should probably define what you mean by "security dilemma".
