Why does my NYCO inter cooler make my xbox 360 freeze?

When ever I turn on my xbox 360 and the inter cooler starts up (once I have signed in) it makes a very loud and high pitched noise then it freezes but only for a while. Once the inter cooler starts to slow down and get quite it will un-freeze and work normally!
