i have always done either dance, gym, acrobatics or other sports.
i have been moved up into intermediate level a while ago and everyone else in my level does pointe.
will i be able to start doing pointe anytime soon? When can i start pointe? started ballet this year, in inter, everyone in level do, always done gym/dance?Nice job being moved up! But, most likely, the other girls in your class have been doing ballet longer and that is why they are on pointe and not yourself. It helps that you have always done either gymnastics or dance. The average amount of time it takes to get on pointe is 2-5 years of consecutive ballet training. You do not want to rush up onto pointe, you could end up twisting or breaking an ankle, or even worse. Your ballet teacher will tell you when it is time. List to him/her. And good luck =]When can i start pointe? started ballet this year, in inter, everyone in level do, always done gym/dance?Hey,
Unfortunately, since it is your 1st yr of ballet they don't really look at everything else you do to help you get to pointe. I had to dance ballet at the same studio for 4 years before I was allowed to go on pointe or (en pointe lol) I am not sure the rules at your studio, but from what I hear 2-4 years is normal depending on your ability. Hope this helped =DWhen can i start pointe? started ballet this year, in inter, everyone in level do, always done gym/dance?Thats difficult because you started on intermediate but you still have only been doing ballet for a year. I would wait till you finish your 2nd year of ballet and start pointe when you are on your 3rd year of ballet. Good luck.
