How are inter-clan fighting and lack of education the result of no government in Somalia?
I'd say it's the other way around. Because of the war between clans and the lack of education of the majority of Somalis, there cannot be a government. There used to be a government (Said Barre) after Somalis gained independence from England and Italy in the 1960s, but there was a coup and he was overthrown. Although he did many bad things, he did try to improve the education of Somalis, especially nomads, by sending a relative of each family to school to be taught how to read and do basic math, and then they would teach their relatives when they got home. Eventually, clan tensions caused a civil war to break out in 1990 and because of the rivalry between clans, Somalis don't accept any government that goes into office. Each clan wants to see one of their own in office and will reject a leader of their rivaling clan or another clan. There has always been some type of government or President but Somalis don't accept them and they have little influence because of the war. Right now, the new President and Prime Minister of Somalia are of the two major and rivaling clans so people are hoping that Somalia will give them a change. How are inter-clan fighting and lack of education the result of no government in Somalia?Think of it this way... if the Bloods and the Crips forced law enforcement out of Los Angeles. It is mob rules there and no one has the support of the population to regain control of the country without outside military help.the pillars of the earth
